Welcome to the Countway Library. As one of many libraries within the Harvard University Library System, the Countway is the principal library serving Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Dental Medicine, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and the graduate medical education programs spread out amongst fifteen medical centers across the Boston area. Countway users have access to thousands of current electronic serials, books, databases, as well as in-depth research support. The Countway is much more than this!
Our building renovations from 2019-2023 have made Countway a central hub in the Longwood Medical Area where students, faculty, and staff from all three of our schools gather to study, learn, or just meet over a cup of coffee at our café. The Countway Center for the History of Medicine is one of the world’s leading resources for the study of the history of health & medicine and is used by researchers from across the world, where access to the past provides a clear envisioning of biomedicine today and for the future. I invite you to come and see the Countway for yourself. If you have a Harvard University ID card, simply tap your badge at the entrance and come in. If not, drop by on a Saturday when the Countway is open to the public, 10am-4pm. Also, if you do not already receive our bi-monthly newsletter Countway Commuiqué, please subscribe to keep tabs on the many activities happening here.
See you at the Countway!
